International News AIDS Medications Blocked at Customs in UkraineJuly 26, 2011 The All-Ukrainian Network of People Living With HIV said Monday the country's customs officials have halted a shipment of critical medicines. The nonprofit urged authorities to release the medicine supply for 5,000, saying the drugs will spoil if not stored properly. The Ukrainian Customs Services said the shipment -- worth about $1.9 million -- has been illegally imported. AUNPL countered that the shipment is in fact legal, but that the accompanying paperwork was incorrect.
