U.S. News Georgia Waiting List Grows for HIV/AIDS DrugsJune 28, 2011 With more than 1,600 people needing help, the waiting list for Georgia's AIDS Drug Assistance Program is second in size only to Florida's. Georgia is $17 million short of the resources needed to eliminate the wait, and health officials are studying alternative approaches, including enrolling patients in a program, created under the federal health care overhaul, to help those with pre-existing conditions purchase insurance.
