South Carolina: Health Officials Urge HIV Testing

June 22, 2011

While many organizations publicize their offer of free HIV testing on National HIV Testing Day, June 27, many people may not realize the groups actually provide the service every day. "It's just a push to raise awareness," Carmen Julious, executive director of Palmetto AIDS Life Support Services, said of the national observance. "A lot of people don't understand until that day that we do testing every day." For more information on testing opportunities in South Carolina, telephone 803-779-7257 or visit www.scdhec.gov/health/disease/stdhiv.
