International News UN Chief Calls for Efforts to Honor Commitment on Fighting HIV/AIDSJune 13, 2011 According to a statement issued Friday by a spokesperson, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon "is encouraged that member-states have agreed to clear and measurable targets, in particular for achieving universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support by 2015." At the same time, Ban called on "member-states to move quickly to honor their commitments and reach the lifesaving goals they have set, and to take all measures to eliminate new HIV infection among children by 2015."
