International News Multiple Domains Should Be at Work to Rid the World of HIV/AIDS: MexicoJune 9, 2011 Many sectors of society must come together to win the global war on HIV/AIDS, Mexico's health minister said Wednesday at the UN General Assembly High-Level Meeting on AIDS. "This is the time to energetically confront AIDS from our domains: governments, scientific community, civil society and the [UN] system," said Jose Angel Cordova Villalobos. He called for an effective response to the pandemic "without stigmas, discrimination, homophobia, transphobia, as well as any type of violence." "As soon as possible, it is essential that all countries ... are able to offer an opportune, sustainable and permanently free antiretroviral treatment to every person who is medically indicated."
