estimado Dr Tebas soy de mexico, hace poco dias le escribi porque pensaba que tal estaba infectado, mi pregunta es sencilla ya me realize la prueba de elisa y salio negativa pero me entere de que hay 2 tipos de hiv, ¿el test de elisa abarca los 2 tipos de vih??? y que tan posible es que no se hayan detectado los anticuerpos de vih o que tan comun s el vih 2 y que lo tenga y que por eso no se detecto??? por favor algo preocupado.....


Respuesta:

La mayoría de los test de ELISA comerciales detectan ambos virus. Llame al laboratorio y pregunte acerca del test que se realizó. La infección por el virus del VIH 2 es muy rara fuera del Africa occidental.
