Mc KINLEY ALFORDA REAL FRIENDRegistrar - Rob HarrisonEmail - BEVINEAU@aol.com Memorial: Mc Kinley Alford was a young and brilliant teacher of math. He also coached track and developed an award winning chess team at Evanston Township High School. Every winter, he would pack a station wagon with his best chess players and drive through all types of weather to get them to the competitions. His students loved him very much, and he earned the respect of all who knew him. Mc Kinley was a very serious brother who liked to write poetry, stump his students and friends on math ques- tions, and loved to entertain any and all philosophical questions late into the night. Before offering an opinion or suggestion,"Mac" always thought over his response with great care. He liked to wrestle with ideas and demanded that his friends did the same. His energy was boundless and so was his sense of humor and charity. When he died, about ten years ago, he was completing work on a masters degree in mathematics at Northwestern. Mc Kinley, we loved you very much. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you in some way. Thanks for teaching me the lesson of true friendship. Peace!
