Hey everyone,
I have just finished a visit with the ear specialist because a tinnitus I have in one ear (I hear a sound without any external source). After x-ray and explorations it has turned out to be that I have swollen adenoids and swollen lymph. She was freaking out about that in an adult so I finnaly told her that I was positive and that might be the reason. It has been a very displeasing experience. She has accused me of hiding it and exposing her to infection. (I wonder how and ear exploration without any blood involved can cause an infection at all). She told me that I should always disclose it so extra precautions are taken. I asked her about other viruses and sterilization but she said that HIV was specially contagious so special considerations should be taken as a simple needle contact would be enough. And if i didn't disclose it in every medical or sexual contact I had I was a traitor then. Then she took all my papers at wrote and underlined "HIV PATIENT". Of course everything we had talked about had no more meaning. I was supposed to have my adenoids removed but now she says it's too risky. I have had a lot of operations nonetheless.
It has been my fault as I shouldn't have disclosed to a person which is obviously very ignorant outside her ear specialty. I got the opposite lesson: I will never tell again. she made me feel like a fucking silent assassin.
Just wanted to get it out from my chest!
