Help
      04/23/05 12:21 PM

My lab company recently changed their HIV-RNA blood work to include B-Cells, which is not covered by my insurance. I live in a city that the doctor's do not do their own lab work it is all through an outside company. After many calls and hours of conversations it comes down to either side not taking responsibility. The lab company will not omit the test since it is part of their overall test and the insurance company will not pay for it because it is not scientifically proven. I have asked the local Aids organization but have been denied any sort of help (even a phone conversation to guide me in the right direction) because I am employed and have insurance. The organization will not give me the time of day. Who should I complain to? Who can help get the claims paid? I have complained to my insurance company, but keep getting the standard PE (Service is Unproven).
