I sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I'm not sure why they didn't redo your Western Blot, but it sounds like they believe they have tested you enough to make that call. Health care workers sometimes make decisions that might not make sense on the surface, but I'm sure they know more about your particular situation than anyone posting here. In any case you will know more after your appointment when you get your results.
As far as dealing with this. I will tell you the shock wears off and it gets better. It's been over 17 years but I clearly remember the shock of finding out. My world being turned upside down with 4 little words. "You are HIV positive". In other ways that all now seems to be a lifetime ago. Life goes on and we keep going. There is no reason you can't thrive with HIV. You will.
