Hey Redtx12!
You sound SO familiar. When I was diagnosed and told (due to my low CD4 count) I was technically defined as having AIDS my exact question was "Don't I get to be just HIV positive for a while?" That was over 10 years ago. My Doctor belived in hitting the virus with both barrels and put me on "the cocktail of 3 meds" immediately. My viral load became undetectable in just 3 months and has remained undetectable ever since. My CD4 gradually rose every six months until I was in the 'normal' range in less than 2 years. That was 8 years ago. My CD4/CD8 ratio has about maxed out at the top! We've learned maintaining "undetectability" is the key to long-term health. I have a GREAT Doctor, I strictly follow my once a day Atripla dosing and I am told to expect a healthy life. So don't fear "skipping" the HIV place in time. It's not really that big of a deal.
