Question 1: will the loose stools go away? Your loose stools are more than likely caused by the medication. Paxil is usually taken at night because of its tranquilizing side effects. Your having loose stools in the morning I'm guessing right after you wake up and from the sounds of it tapers off during the day. Try eating a higher fiber meal at night before the meds. This may help calm their effect in the morning.
I'm not saying that it's not HIV causing it to some extent because HIV does affect the gut but I'm willing to bet its mostly the meds.
Question 2: drinking on occasion and in moderation shouldn't have any effect on anything. Although it doesn't mix well with the current medication you are on. I would suggest limiting drinking to the bare minimum. You don't want to damage your liver I hear they are hard to get replacements.
Question 3: those medications are fine to be on. They don't affect HIV one way or another. And coming off of them will only make things worse for you so stick with them if they are working. You will want to tell your HIV specialist that you are on them because they may not interact well with certain HIV meds. Your dr will know about this and will work around them.
I didn't think any of your questions were stupid they are all legit questions to be asking.
