I was diagnosed HIV positive in May 2011. From what me and my doctor can conclude, I became infected in February 2011. My CD4 count was 760 and my viral load was 400 which is good. The last three months have really been a struggle. I started taking an anti-depressant because I was spiraling out of control. The meds have helped stabilize my emotions but I still feel like my life is spinning out of control. I have taken ambien to sleep every night for the last 3 months but I want to stop. I did finally make an appointment to see my doctor on Monday to see what can be done to get me out of this funk! I feel like my life is out of my control and that drives me crazy since I am a control freak. I also have some paranoria when talking with others….I’m always really worried that others are judging me because I’m HIV positive. I will be talking with my doctor on Monday morning to see what I need to do. Can others let me know how long it had taken you to accept the fact that you have HIv. It is been 3 months now and I am still having a really rough time. Thank you for listening. -Gizmo
