I am a person living with HIV for, I suspect, about twenty to twenty-five years. I tested positive for HIV infection in 1989 with no previous HIV testing to the best of my knowledge. I have not been in the labour force since 1995 and am economically supported by Canada Pension Plan Disability benefits and an employer-provided long-term disability benefit.
I was just curious--you reported that you had difficulty relating to poeple not actively engaged in the paid labour force and/or living with HIV for a long time--what barriers did you encounter in communicating and forming social relationships with people in those circumstances?
