How Aids And I Met
I lost a brother to Aids. It was devastating. My brother and I
were very close and therefore, I was the only family member who
knew about his condition, because he did not want anyone to know,
so I respected his wishes. He was afraid of getting rejected by
the family or the talk of the town. I held this secret for 4
years. When the time came when my brother got very sick, he gave
me permission to tell the family. He lived in another city and
did not want it told over the phone. I held a family meeting, and
told the family everything about my brother. It was very hard
telling my parents that there son, our brother had aids and that
he was going to die. But in turn, I felt relieved and at peace.
You see, the heavy load I was carrying for so long was gone. My
Brother was not rejected or shamed, he to was at peace and the
load he carried for so long was lifted
