Hello Sir, I am from India..Please help me....
My father-in-law is HIV +ve. We came to know about this about 3 months back.. We are supposed to visit him for 2 days this weekend..
What I want to know is what precautions should I take while our visit.. I have a 3 year old son..
I know that HIV doesn't spread by casual contacts like sharing the same dining table and so on... But I am worried about my son...He is very mischievous.. He sometimes bites every one and may even bite my father-in-law ..
More over my father-in-law might have some pimple or bowl type infection on his skin from which some (may be small quantity) blood might be coming out and if my son bites him on one of this sores and if this small quantity of blood enters his mouth ? Is it dangerous ?
My father-in-law also has severe dental problems and may be bleeding inside his mouth because of this.. Do we need to be cautious while sharing dinner, lunch or breakfast with him..? Like not using same utensils and so on...
Also suggest me if any else precautions needs to be taken by the person living with the one who are HIV +ve..
Main problem is he is not very conscious about his HIV infection and takes it very lightly.. He even hasn't told his HIV status to his wife..
