My b-friend just found out he's got HIV

My b-friend just found out today he's HIV positive. He's been suspecting the + status for some time and has had simptoms of the acute infection (monolike syndrome). He's probably been infected on a forced anal intercourse that happened 2y+ ago, and when we met (6 months ago) he was already infected but unaware. I've recently been tested (4o. generation P24 test with imunologic window < 14 days) and am negative. I'm doing my internship on Medicine so I have a lot of knowledge regarding the disease, but truthfully am finding it hard to talk to him regarding it and dealing with it myself.
Really hoping for some advice from people on the same situation reagarding what to do.
Don't know how to deal with the whole psycological weight of the whole issue, I really really love this guy so leaving the relationship is really not an option.
