Hi all,
I'm fascinated with how fitness and wellness have helped me to stay around on this pale blue dot we affectionately call, Earth. So what kind of fitness related training do you participate in to stay healthy, fit, and alive?
I'll start with my regiment. As a hemophiliac, I cannot participate in contact sports, and I need to be careful of my joints in general. That said, two years ago I discovered triathlons and I've never looked back.
I train six days per week, leaving one day for complete rest and rehabilitation.
Each week I: Bike 3 days (2 maintenance and 1 long day) Run 3 days (2 maintenance and 1 long day) Swim or VersaClimber 2 or 3 days Lift weights 1.5 days (I do a full-body routine 3 times every two weeks)
I find that fitness keeps my joints strong and less prone to bleed. It also sharpens my mental abilities, and give me extra energy.
What do you do? And, do you think it helps keep you alive?
