I tested positive last year and had the same concerns as you. No you will not lose your benefits, the only issue is now you can not be assigned to an MTOE unit since Soldiers in our situation can not serve overseas or be deployed. Even if you tested positive and your spouse did not, there is no action that will be taken against you. Key now is dealing with the situation at hand. If there can be a plus about this situation, is the care and benefits you will receive from being in the military. WRAMC is wonderful and take very good care of those in our similar situation. If you can stay in until retirement, you definitely should. I know a few people who are pos and in the civilian sector and have difficulties with insurance. You already know how easy we have it, for active and retirees. This site helped me make the adjustment as well, a wealth of knowledge and experiences here. Any questions feel free to drop a line, like I said I was in your position and someone helped me in the beginning as well.
