Army Reserve's Crazy Rules
      01/31/06 08:13 PM

I need to run something by you guys and see if anyone else is experiencing similar issues. I am in the Army Reserve and have been HIV positive for four years. I have jumped through all of the military's hoops. I just found out that I have to go on Active Duty for six months. I am attending an NCOES school which is the exception for doing active duty time. However, I am being told that because I am classified as a Reservist and HIV positive that I will not have access to the hospital or pharmacy. This is because of an outdated military policy that states that HIV positive soldiers must seek treatment at their own expense. This just seems very unfair to me. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for the input.
