Blessings to you and your family on holiday.
I, too, have taken diagnosis as "catalyst for change". I quit sleeping around, quit drinking three years ago. Tested for HIV right after, negative then. Never returned for retesting. Bad mistake. Didn't discover HIV until OIs and dangerously bad numbers last fall. I believe I was not emotionally nor mentally prepared for the diagnosis back then...Only after growth, sobriety, change, was I able to accept the diagnosis and become adherent in all ways...
I am thankful for this board which has educated me, supported me, and enabled me to make contact with others just like me. This Thanksgiving will be my second post diagnosis. I am even more thankful this year that I survived one more. Definitely a time to reflect.
