Elevated liver enzymes.
      05/13/13 12:28 PM

Hey guys I just have a question regarding elevated liver enzymes. I contracted hiv in early December of last year and ever since my liver enzymes have been elevated. I don't drink except the occasional drink on the weekends, I don't smoke or do drugs. I go to the gym and do yoga almost everyday and I eat very healthy.

I started treatment last month on Kivexa and Isentress and I know that these drugs are processed by the liver so I'm a bit worried that they might over work my liver even more.

My doctor said not to worried about it and that she'd monitor it and we could possibly switch to a different medication if need be that's not processed by the liver.

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar and if so did it resolve itself after a while. My doctor also said that sometimes after initial exposure your liver enzymes can go up, so it might be because of this too.
Thanks for your help
Mark
