I am so sorry that you are struggling, but be grateful you are not on meds they suck big time. I have gained 20lbs. "My blood counts might be nice, but the way I feel is definitely not nice. Like my normal healing and my normal energy levels. I scratch myself and the mark on my skin stays for weeks now. It used to be days." That happens even on the medications, just so you know that is part of HIV. I get colds at the drop of a hat where I never was sick before. Even on medications I get sick easily, whereas before I had a very healthy fighting immune system. "I feel weak and old every single day and I can't work or do anything. And I go to the doctor for help and all they do is take my blood and tell me to come back in three months. My body is doing the best it can and because it is doing an OK job, the doctor tells me that no medication is necessary." I just want you to be aware that all the medications really do is get our numbers to where your numbers are naturally. I agree you need to proactive in dealing with your health. Sweetie you are getting older, and your body needs more, remember this ok, there are side effects to taking the medications some of those side effects are worst than what you are experiencing. I understand you need to take control, but remember to breathe and relax some, some of the effects on you sound to me like stress. You know I ma not a doctor, nor do I play one of TV. Why should the way I fight infection be any different from the way I fight a fight? Infection is part of you, and can easily overcome. Remember the virus will not die and just goes deeper into hiding, the medications help keep things in check. I totally wish I were in your shoes and did not have to take meds, they are expensive and the side effects absolutely nasty. So if I had the choice it would be to deal and not take the foreign drugs into my body. You know we support you doing whatever it is that you think you have to do, but be aware that once you open that can of worms you can never get them back into the can. good luck and hugs. D
