I know when my son was younger and I told her about my being poz, but it was after my son was born. The reason they suggested "no live virus vaccines" (which was even still so slim for me at the time). but its only an issue when you possibly come into contact with their fecus. (I know, sounds fun huh!!).

but because it is live, it comes out in the fecus. Being a mom with a "newly" potty trained child, this was possible. I dont think your father in law would be at any risk with this issue.

(and even then, because my 2nd son who is 13 months has had live virus vaccines), because they are easier on the children, and really quite minimal risk risk.

please be assure that live virus vaccines are not a risk for him. most of us have been vaccinated for these samy virus vaccines anyway. (but it may depend on which vaccines your father in law has NOT had).

take care,
debbie
