HIV Transmission and Education >> Am I Infected?

A few questions
      03/30/00 09:43 PM

Hi.. I am wondering if anyone here may be able to answer a few
questions for me.. My doctor doesn't seem to want to answer.. I
was exposed to HIV and Hepatitis B and D for the last 6 years,
(Without my knowledge) I have been tested for all three and all
tests came up negative. At the time of the tests it was 1 month
since my last exposure to it. My doctor did the HIV antibody test
and also the HIV RNA PRC as well as a viral load test and t-cell
test. He claims that all the tests are negative but the HIV RNA
PRC test was indeterminable. Also I had a viral load of 400 but
he's not sure if it is caused by HIV or just a cold or
something.. Lately i have been sick.. FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS, night
sweats and such... Maybe It is just a COLD.. But under the
circumstances it is hard to believe that.. My question is this...
Is it true that a person with HIV is more infectous when they are
dying? Could I have been infected the last time I was with my
fiance which was 1 month before he died after not being infected
for 6 years of unprotected sex??? These are the questions the
doctor won't answer.. All he says is I have to get tested again
at 3 months and 6 months.. Any answers you may have are much
appreciated. Thank you..
