HIV Transmission and Education >> Am I Infected?

      09/05/02 09:25 PM

Ok, once and for all I want people to drop the testing period subject. I went to and asked an RN about the testing window. She told me that 3 months is conclusive. The only time you have to retest at 6 months is if you KNOW for a FACT that you were without a doubt exposed to the virus. The only other time you test at 6 months is if you come up positive and they retest to confirm it. She also said 3 months = 90 days!!! Not 84, not 88, but 90!! So for those of you who keep retesting, STOP!!!!!! You are wasting time and causing undue harm to your body.

in most cases there is no reason for that 6 month test. Only people who KNOW for a FACT that they were exposed to HIV should be taking that 6 month test now.
