Acute Primary HIV Infection
      04/04/00 09:41 PM

Hello,

I may have been infected from an incident sometime in early Oct '99.

10 weeks later, on 23 Dec 99, I've developed a low grade fever, runny nose, bad cough, sore throat and a lot of thick yellow phlegm/mucus. After having taken the medicine, I feel not much better, and have consulted the doctor YET again on 29 Dec 99 with the same complaints.

What are the signs and symptoms of the Primary Acute HIV infection stage?

To me, it seems that it comprises of flu-like sickness and resembles the one I'm having now. I believe that some may recover from this stage rather quickly while others may take longer. I suppose it all depends on the individuals' level of resistance.

Perhaps, someone may like to share some experiences OR facts about this Primary acute stage.

Thanks.
