Different studies yield different stats.
The Padian study put the risk at 1in 8,000.
The New England J. or Medicine buts it between 1 in 1666 to 1 in 3333.
As you stated, other folks place different stats on this risk.
The bottom line is this:
1. HIV is a fragile, and difficult virus to transmit. More so from female to male.
2. The chance of being infected from a ONE TIME encounter are low, but very real.
Hence, don't play the percentage came. Be safe 100% of the time.
