Married, I am + and wife is negative...so far. She has to be tested in another month for us to really know. I have a cd4 139 my viral load was 4006. I contracted it through work, I have a really good idea when and how it happened. I am just really hoping wife is truly negative...not sure how I will deal with it if she is positive. I have had scares in the past, so I randomly give myself HIV test, this time I came back poisitive.
I am sure my numbers have changed in the past weeks. I am still waiting to meet with my doctor. Nervous about what kind of medication I will be on and what my genotype is etc.
The nurse said I can live "normally". My concerns are what normal is? I like to have a beer a couple of nights a week(with my dinner) and of course fri/sat have a few beers. I eat pretty healthy(65%good/35%bad), exercise, play in softball leagues. I like grilling out all year round. Will all this have to change? I am looking to find a less stressful career. No more long days, oncall through out the night, working many holidays/weekends. It is tough to adjust to not living "invincibly" in a sense. I have always been very healthy not getting sick often or at least not as sick as everyone else if a bug is going around. I am nervous about the up coming fall/winter/spring..cold flu season. Well at least so far I feel and look healthy..knock on wood..I wash hands like crazy, watch how i handle food. Sorry to ramble!!! I just want to know I can live normally like I have been or at least close to it.
