Does slow seroconversion = slow progression?
      10/31/01 12:43 AM

Hey everyone, thanks for your help with my other questions a few pages back. I would like to buy everyone a drink when this is all over, but probably can't aford it!

Question:
Does anyone know of any natural indicators of the rate of hiv disease progresion?

The reason I ask is that I was negative 4 weeks after unprotectd anal (!!! I know - never again !!!) and then got sick at 6 weeks, so if I've got HIV I'm running a little late on the time line. Would slow seroconversion, or late ARS indicate slow disease progression later? Any theories?

I heard that maybe the sicker you are during ARS the faster the hiv might progress. For example someone hospitlized with very severe symptoms may be progresing quicker in general. I didn't hafto go to the hospital, it was just like a real bad flu.

I also read that thrush might be a sign of faster progression. I didn't have that, and I didn't get the rash. I didn't even get swollen glands ntil after the sickness cleared, but now they been real big and swollen for 2 weeks. This is a bad sign I think. Are there any other theories anybody knows about?

Thank you all so much. This board is very helpful and encouraging. I'll be sure to let you know my test results, for better or worse! I definately learnt my lesson. :(
