my partner of ten years

My partner of 10 years tested positive last week. He has just
returned home from a business trip and has a fever tonight of
102. He hasn't started meds yet, as our first Dr's appt. isn't
until next Friday. I worry that perhaps this disease may somehow
be advanced? Because I am just learning about all of this, I'm
really scared. I was tested last week and hope to find out this
week about me. In a way I hope I am positive, which sounds odd.
Anyone have thoughts to share with me, I'd love to hear from you.
