CD4 and Pregnancy
      #274147 - 10/03/13 06:22 PM

HI everyone, i am new on here i was diagnosed Jan 2013 with HIV. I want to make an informed decision around getting pregnant.

Im wondering if any of you ladies can help me out with information. At what level should my CD4 be at before getting pregnant. What are the issues i need to consider while pregnant. my husband is negative, so what are the safer methods of getting pregnant so as not to cause risk to my husband.

I would appreciate any advice you ladies can share with me. Thank u in advance xx

Hello Michelle25,

Welcome on board. Have read a lot of literature since my diagnosis and I think a CD4 of 500 is always good but targeting a range of 700-800 makes it even better. I think also taking into account your overall health is of utmost importance -mental, physical and everything.

I think your medical team can also help you to make an educated decision.
gud luck

Welcome. I don't have any advice for you or direct experience with HIV and pregnancy but I am sure you will be able to find appropriate information on the site.
