Since the disease had only been"discovered"for about 25 years that's the official number.I personally know some people who have been positive that long.As for ages, anybody at any age, from children to senior citizens. This is an equal opportunity disease. It does not discriminate. That's why we all need to be aware of safe sex and to avoid exposure to blood.

I would tend to have asked that question the other way round and would want to know why they have not survived, that's just me

Hi,

With the medications available and a variety of tests to monitor disease progression, without any doubt a person infected with HIV should be able to stay for decades. However, it is extremely difficult to quantify the time in days, months or years as several factors like regular exercise, nutrition, medication, stress management etc contribute in this process.

Good luck

If HIV is not supposed to be an airborne infection, why did I just watch three people who live with an HIV+ person become infected without sharing toilet, razor, toothbrush, forks, spoons or even sleeping in the same room? I got news for you. The CDC has failed to warn people because of the the social problems it would cause. HIV IS AIRBORNE.

Yeah, sure ya did and I just 'watched' 4 people float down the highway and they say people can't float in the air during rush hour.

HIV has been around for almost 30 years. There are no surprises on how it is transmitted and via air is not one of them....if it was we'd all have been in deep shit about 25 years ago.

The US would have a population of about 3 if that were the case. Stick with the science and quit trying to make a mess.
