Sore throat for over 2 months
      #162756 - 10/26/05 02:31 AM

I kissed a shady (found out later she was a heavy drug user) girl and touched her genitals. From 2 days after, I kissed her, I have had a sore throat that will not go away and is even getting worse. Have had all tests besides HIV come up negative. No other symtoms. Going to a ENT next week.

Never heard of a soar throat lasting this long.

Only thing I can thnk of is HIV. Internal medicine doctor doesn't think it is, but then what do I have? Waiting 6 months for HIV test.

Thanks ahead of time.

KS

It's most likely not HIV, but what it could be is ebv virus, what it is is a kissing virus that causes a sore throut and some flu like symptoms. It will clear on it's own if that is what it is.You can have a test ran for that.

ARS gives more symptoms than a sore throat and clears up after a few days.

If anything it could be mono.

Practically speaking, HIV is not transmitted by kissing or touching someone's genitals.

Honestly, sore throats that last that long can be from allergies (especially this time of year). It is often a result of a post nasal drip. With no other symptoms, such as a fever, etc. I would not be overly concerned.
