Does anyone know what the possibility is that one could get HIV if the penis never actually entered the Vagina, but had precum and was placed near the labia and clitoris?

I'm no doctor, but I would have to say that it is considerably less risky than having intercourse. But again, I'm not qualified to say whether or not it is risk free.

Not highly risky, but it's possible. It is much more possible, however, to get another sexually transmitted disease this way. You see HIV has to get into your blood stream. Intercourse is a perfect way--there's movement and possibly abrasions or little cuts occurring and then there's a lot of semen. What you described makes it more difficult for the semen to get into your blood stream. However, the person couldv'e had herpes or gonorrea and you certainly are at risk for that. Tony

This may not be very high risk activity, but the possibility of infection with HIV is there. The virus is present in precum; enough for someone to become infected. The virus has to enter the body and this can take place through cuts or abrasions and/or the mucosal membrane of the vagina. Additionally, any skin to skin contact can transmit herpes, chlamydia, and/or HPV. Your best bet would be to see your ob/gyn for a complete STD exam if you are concerned.
