hair loss
      #34937 - 05/31/02 11:18 AM

Has anyone experienced a profound amount of hair loss on antivirals?I'm curious if it began as soon as you started the drugs,or sometime down the line.I've purchased a wig(hoping it will regrow)but the last 6 months have been shear torture on top of all my other med side effects.

To the above poster, could you share a little more of your experience.I don't want to be nosy, but my wig is so hot and if there's any hope for relief, then maybe I can hang in there through the summer. Did your loss start soon after you started viracept(how long) or was it delayed?(I'm delayed)? You said it stopped after a year. Did it happen on it's own or had you stopped viracept, started a new drug(s)etc. Finally the million dollar question...Did you notice any regrowth at all? Any imformation you can provide will at least help me sort this out and deal better. Oh yeah, did you have any lipo problems? Cholesteral or body changes(accumulation)I think it's related for me. Thank you.

Hi,
I had hair loss on one of my first med regimens. It was frustrating, but it went away. Lipo is an issue for most women on Meds. If your hair loss continues, maybe you should ask your doctor about switching your meds. Quality of Life is important as it effects your mental outlook.
Good luck!
Hez
