I had a very risky exposure in the beginning of Oct. '07. Had unprotected vaginal sex with male of unknown status. Had the flu-like symptoms after 3wks and now I have burning in my throat and vagina. I tested at 40 dys (5 1/2 wks) and the rapid HIV test came out negative. Dr prescribed Diflucan and has cleared the burning in my vagina but not my throat. Did any of you have these symptoms when newly infected? I did another HIV test (blood) on 11/23 and should have the results by end of this week. Please reply with any info. I am terrified.

I've had oral thrush a few times,NOW DON'T PANIC,I know a lot of people who've had it and are negative too.It can be caused by other things besides HIV.Best wishes for negative test results.Remember this scare and be careful in the future.
