I'm pregnant with my second child, which was planned, and while my first was a c-section now I have the option of a vaginal birth. I really would love to try it this time and was going to fight my doc about it but he surprised me by saying he is open to a "trial of labor". So, now I'm just in chock and I'm looking to talk to other mother who have given birth being positive and learn about their experiences. Please let me know your story.

Hi, I just found out I am pregnant for the second time! I have a 1-year-old boy sitting on my lap right now who is healthy, we are anxiously awaited his 18 months mark so that he can get tested one last time and hopefully come back negative! I delivered vaginally. My doctor gave me the option and said there were really no pros and cons with either vaginal delivery or c-section. I really wanted to deliver vaginal and experience it and I am soooo happy I did. I am still getting used to being pregnant again and wondering if I should tempt faith one more time. I found out I was positive while I was pregnant last year. I had resigned myself to the idea of not having any more children. But oopsie...here I am again! (my boyfriend and father of our son is positive too). Let me know if you want to stay in contact and keep each other up to date on our pregnancies?! I am just 9 days over, so maybe 3 weeks pregnant! Long way to go... Good luck, Iris

Hi, I just posted a reply to Moondreamer, but wanted to give you some answers too... I started Combivir when I was about 14-15 weeks pregnant, the doctors wanted me to start another drug too, but I couldn't get it due to expense. After I started Combivir I became undetectable! And the docs were ok with me only taking Combivir. During delivery I was on IV AZT and my son was started on AZT within a few hours after delivery for 6 weeks, this was hard, giving a little innocent baby pretty potent drugs, but he did great, no side effects or anything. Then the testing at birth, 2 and 4 months and then at 18 months. When they are that small it's very hard to watch your baby having to be poked for blood...but honestly the circumcision was way worse!! Anyway, if you have any more questions...let me know! Be happy to answer them ....

I'm so glad to hear your story... congratulations on your pregnancy.. It took us a while to decide to go for the second specially my husband. But we are very happy we did since now our daughter will have a brother. Your response gives me reassurance that vaginal will be ok. I even looked at the pics when my daughter was taken out of my belly and there was blood all over. So, I really think that the drugs although like you say strong are great! Please contact me privately so that we can talk more. In which state are you? I'm in FL. I just wonder if things vary from state to state. Is your doc private or from a University/public hospital? Mine is from a Unv Hosp so they are very much into protocol. Hope to hear from you soon.
