Please help!

I am 25, have been with 6 people in my life, all unprotected at some point. 3 of the six have for sure been tested negative, the other 3 I am not for sure about. Recently I had mild flulike symptoms, then after that some gastrointestinal problems that have not gone away, my acne has gotten worse, some night sweats, headaches, peeling dry skin and nausea. I am so afraid I have contracted hiv, I know everyone says this but I feel it is true : (. I am getting tested on monday but my worst fear is never finding anyone to accept/love me again and especially never having a family. How can I survive if my results come back positive? I'm so confused and scared, any advice, stories, anything you could offer would be so appreciated : (. Thank you, Charlie25

Also, I got tested for other STD's in August after being with a new partner in July and I had a yeast infection, they gave me Diflucan and almost immediately after treatment it came back! I have not treated it since but I know I have one, I am SO scared : ( : ( : (. I am sure because of this and the heat flashes I get (maybe fevers?) that I am positive : (. Anyway any advice, help would be appreciated. Thanks. Charlie25

Dear Charlie:
The good news is you have decided to get tested. Often our fears are much more deadly than the truth. My advice is not to go thru this process alone. Get one of your closest friends/family to walk thru the testing procedures with you -- not just on Monday (your test day), but while you
are waiting for the results.
Whatever the result, you are a valuable person who is worth loving. After all, not many people in your position would have taken the time to respond to my post. The fact that you did makes you special. Your specially will shine thru your diagnoses.
And by the way, most of the symptoms you described can be symptomatic of a plain-good-old panic attack. This is not to say the problems are not real....instead, this is to remind you to just breathe.
