I hope someone is patient enough to bare with me.. I need some guidance from others with herpes. I was diagnosed with hereps 3 years ago. the catch is that when diagnosed i had a pinch size soar and was to small to culture. I had a standard blood test for it (was told if u have hepres 1 it would be positive) but still had test (came back +) i still had my doubts about the herpes though. Years passed and this past week before my period. I noticed the same thing a pinch size soar well, left it alone, no treatments. went away. Over the weekend i was applying vaseline to my body including inner thighs. The next day i had major pain on my vaginal lip. It hurts when i pee, i examined the area and notice its on the tip of my skin and skin feels tuff and redness. Im wondering if ive transfered the vaseline there or another soar to that tip. Ive heard when you have herpes its painful. the area is about the size of a dime hurts. It looks alittle raw - could that be herpes. Ive seen pics of herpes and it looks nothing like that. Id appreciate others to share there descriptions of herpes and just how bad it is. If this is a herpes soar , i see know what others are saying when they say painful. thanks for your time.

Herpes is painful and it can come in mild forms and severe forms, like the pictures you've seen. Going to the toilet can be a problem, but you can solve this by filling a warm bath, getting in and doing your business in there!! Sounds wierd, I know but keep it in mind if you are desperate! Best of luck. x

herpes CAN actually look like a blister or sore like what you are describing. I don't personally have herpes that I'm aware of, but i've been educating groups about safe sex and std's for a few years (oddly enough)

I think its like one in four or one in five adults has the herpes virus...(estimated numbers of course) and most dont realize they are infected at all.

I've had herpes for 25 years. The outbreaks were long and painful the first few times, but it got better and better over time. I have had 2-3 episodes in the last 5 years and they are shorter and less painful. The sores are always at the exact same place and they are like the ulcers you would get in your mouth except on the genitals.
For me, herpes is really not a big deal at all.

.There is a med that is out there now that you take at the first sign of an out break, it does help. You should ask your Dr about it. I can't think of the name at this moment, but it is the same med used to treat chicken pox (at they are related virus)
Like others have told you, hang in there, the outbreaks will happen less often and the severity will lessen. Also if you are sexually active be very careful, you do don't want to pass it on.
You will also be able to get much more info from your Dr.

Girls Im sorry about the severity of yours, i had a friend who had them BAD. I however questioned my diagnosis because of the mildness. Thanks to the post who said hers looked like ulcers, thats exactly what mine had.
