STD question

I am confused. I went to the Dr. 1 week after having unprotected sex. She did a vaginal STD screening for Chlymidia, Gonnerhea, BV, Trichamonis and yeast. It took 10 days for the results to come back...negative for all. I went today for my second HIV test and the NP told me that STD's might not of showed up that soon, so she did another vaginal swab for all the same ones and blood work. I have not had any stmptoms other that a baldder infection I was treated for a few weeks ago. Can someone help me understand this???
