I was diagnosed with AIDS in July of 2004 and have since been on Videx, Epivir and Kaletra. I have gained over 15 lbs. in the past couple of months and am just wanting information on what to expect from this. Is it normal to be heavy when taking the meds? Please e-mail me at michelles864@yahoo.com with any information on this.

Hey there. There are meds that cause whats called lipodystrophy. Ask yor dr about it. and use this puter to get as much info as you need. Alittle weight gain isn't bad just as a little loss isn't bad but if you see the bloating of belly and thinning of arms and legs have you Dr. look at the meds. I believe videx is one of the culprets. Stay in touch.

Hi there, I also gained weight in the begining. I gained about 20 lbs. I think it was because my eating habits changed due to the depression and stress of finding out the diagnosis. I have since lost the weight and am eating much better now.It has only been a year and a half, so, hopefully this is only temporary and will even out quick for you.
