I am an HIV negative , 23 year old female. I am a case manager at
an HIV/AIDS services agency in Texas. I have a great passion for
working with people infected with this disease, and enjoy my
work, while at the same time it saddens me to see so many of our
people becoming infected. Many of the women I have been working
with have been infected by their male partners, who were infected
by men themselves. Much of this transmission occured through sex
for drug trades, while others were the result of their partners'
closeted bisexuality. The thing that astounds me time and time
again, is that many of these women have no clue where they could
have gotten the disease from, and never suspect their significant
other. These types of infections among African-American women
have prompted me to look closer at the reasons why so many
African-American women are becoming infected. I need your help. I
am currently in a Master's program, and I am required to conduct
research. My choosen topic is "The Effects of African-American
Male Bisexuality on H.I.V. Infections among African-American
Women. What I need is for those of you who are willling to share
your stories of infection from a man who did not disclose his
homosexual relations with you to send them to me at the above
address. I will not use any of your name, or any other
identifying information. I am a strong advocate of
confidentiality. Any other information that you could give that
would be helpful in alerting other women to their partners
bi-sexual risks would be greatly appreciated. May God continue to
