Starting treatment
      #4677 - 06/01/00 10:05 AM

I have been living with HIV for 10 years. My viral load just went to 40,000 and I think I should begin treatment. My cd 4 count is 200. Would love to hear from others to see what others are taking and when they started treatment.

Hey there. I tested positive 12/99; Am currently at 140,000 VL and t-cells at 310 and I'm not on meds! My doc, an HIV specialist in NYC, is keen to keep me off meds (as I am)and I go in every 6 weeks to monitor. Except for some fatigue, I feel really good. I'm saving the meds for when I really need them. Best of luck. Scott

Thanks Scott:

i think you are right. I've spoken to others and I will hold off for another 3 months and then take my viral load again. i want to wait till I really really need the meds.
I'm taking lots of vitamins now, eating well and exercizing, so I hope to keep my immune system up.
