Non-Progressive HIV?

My boyfriend was told by his dr today that he has a type called Non-Progressive HIV. He didn't get alot of info on it right now though.

Is anyone else familiar with this?

The term doesn't apply to a type of HIV. It's in reference to a 'type' of person. There's been a lot of research in the last few years devoted to figuring out what's different about how LTNPs control HIV.

LTNP's are defined as people who have had HIV for over TEN years and have not taken meds for it and have maintained an undectable viral load for that time. How long has your b/f had HIV Carrie???
