Death is an unfortunate "side effect" you may want to consider. Some don't mind the "side effects" though. Good Luck Honey your in the AIDS Zone.

evil, evil stuff. tried it for 6 months was in the hospital twice with kidney stones. If you do go on it, drink enough water until you're bloated. Maybe try Sustiva/Combivier, much easier on the system.
Good luck

I was on Crixivan, DDI & D4T. Developed lypodystrophy (weight gain in mid-section and breasts, loss of fat on legs and arms and buttocks). When I added Indinavir the lypodystrophy worsened (especially the weight loss on my face!). I got crixivan kidney stones 3 times but was not near as upset about the stones as I was the lypodystrophy. I know they say D4T plays a role in lypoatrophy and I am soon getting off of that. I recently got off of the PI's in exchange for Sustiva and within two weeks my cholesterol and tryglicerides (sp) returned to normal. I have friends who have done well with PI containing regemins, but for myself if I had to do it over again I would never have gone on a Protease Inhibitor. Good luck!

I am a reporter for POZ Magazine working on a story about PI's. I am trying to find HIVers who were put on a PI regimen when they first came in for treatment and had difficulty with the drugs. I am writing about why it took so long for docs to realize that a non-PI regimen using nukes and non-nukes could benefit a lot of patients.
Please email me at lawrencegoodman@yahoo.com. Thanks for your help.
