Hello. I am looking at changing from Sustiva to Kaletra (My Nuke backbone is Truvada), however I have concerns about the side effect profile of Kaletra. I hear that the newer formulation of Kaletra has less side effects that the old one - has anyone switched from the old to the new version? If so, what do they think of the newer formulation? Is it easier to tolerate etc? What side effects have you experienced? Thank you.

I know this is probably coming in late, but I have been told that the new formulation is much easier to tolerate than the older formulation of Kaletra.

Hey.. Sorry I just noticed this post, you probably have found other info.. But, I took Sustiva w/Truvada loved it.. but after 2-3 weeks it didnt love me back, lol. Broke out in a dangerous rash and they switched me to the new formulation of Kaletra(4pills once a day since my body was still naive to medication) w/ my Truvada. The side effects were much different than w/the sustiva.. Alot of stomach problems... but now that I have been on them about 6 weeks the only big issue is the feeling of nausea sometimes... And compared to others thats nothing I will ever complain about. Dont know if any of this will help... . But if you do, be prepared for stomach issues at first but know they will probably fade fast. Just my experience, I guess each person is different. GOOD LUCK

I have switched from the old to the new and the side affects are a lot less. I can actually go out into public without carrying a dose of diarrea medicine with me now!
