Hi. Just wondered if anybody knew as to when the above co-formulated combo will be available? I s it this year? I am starting with Truvada + Sustiva, but as I not keen on taking tablets anyway, I would rather take just 1 tablet instead of 2. Thank you

i don't know, but I CAN'T WAIT!! the thought of taking just 1 pill once a day & having 1 copay instead of 2 excites the crap out of me!!! i just wonder how my body is gonna like taking them at the same time. maybe it'll be a new improved no side effect kinda pill!! if only HIV meds were like going to Willy Wonka's!! they make vitamins taste like gummie bears & look like snot. can make jelly beans taste like boogers & vomit (thank you harry potter) what's up with a happy HIV pill? geez. sorry, sometimes i can lose my train of thought. if you've ever seen the comercial for Adult ADD where the lady is sitting there rubbing her forehead looking all confused & stressed.. the announcer chimes in with "Does it ever feel like the channels are changing in your head & you can't find the remote?!" LMAO! welcome to my world... like a freakin carnival. and the fun house isn't all that fun here, damn channels are always changing!! LMAO. again, sorry people. it's 11:13 pm saturday night & i'm eatin ramen noodle & readin about HIV. WTF.

The combo pill has successfully passed its bioequivalence testing with the manufacturer(s) (Gilead Science and Bristol Meyers Squibb). The next step is to apply for FDA approval. That step is expected to be done in approximately the April timeframe. Approval is expected by late 3rd quarter or early 4th quarter....which would make the new pill available towards the end of 2006. Approval is not expected to be difficult since both drugs are already on the market and are frequently prescribed together...this is a convenience pill.
