I have just stated taking Epivir and have noticed that my hair (on my head) is coming out slowly. I have read that hair loss is a rare side effect. My doctor told me that a patient of hers had the same effect and used garlic shampoo which stopped the hair loss. Has anyone heard of this or do you know of any other alternatives?

Use the search engine at The Body and you'll find lots of stuff about hair loss.

Donīt worry too much, it isnīt as rare, I kept loosing a lot of hair for a couple of years (I was on epivir), nearly went mad thinking on top of everything I was going to end up bold, but that didnīt happen. Now, on other med and much better.

I suffered from hair loss for a few years. While I now have made a drug switch that has really helped, I found that a hair product called Nioxin really helped me. You have to used it properly though! They have a website: www.nioxin.com.

How long did it take for the hair loss to resolve once epivir was stopped? Did the loss just stop or did you experience regrowth too? Has anyone lost hair with videx?
