Hi,
I'm sorry nobody answered this for you. You sound like your having a tough time. Please relax with the medications you are on...they are safe for you (and the baby) and they will help your child to not become poz. If you are responsible about taking your meds...please don't worry about the baby. I see woman, lots, and lots of women take these meds and have healthy babys...(always, when they are on treatment). You do NOT want to breasfeed your child, becuase there have not been enough study's (if any) to determine the baby can still not get it thru the milk.
Please rest asure that you and your baby are fine. Your numbers are great...you really only need meds right now because of the baby. you could go off when the baby is born if you wish....listen, I did....my son is almost a year old and is without hiv!! I have been poz for almost 13 yrs, and back then,,,having a baby, was believed to not be possible.
Please touch base and let me know how you are doing? You will be fine..
I'm sorry about your boyfriend. Problems with your liver are terrible, because when it is not functioning properly, the rest of your body doesn't work right. I hope he does not drink alcohol, it will progress the cirosis much faster.
My love and prayers are with you.
Debbie

The meds help you! That's how you will manage to live with HIV...otherwise you will surely die. Look at the women in south africa and asia and central america who have no access to the meds!!!!!!!!! You need to take the meds on time all the time and then you can have a normal life. Otherwise you risk lots of horrid illnesses! Good luck!

In your post it appears that you are looking at your life with a negative twist. You ought to change that. Look at the positive. Whether some drug rots your insides or not is of no consequense because YOU should only worry about things that YOU YOURSELF can control. Seems you could better focus your attention on the good things in your life and how you are feeling physically right now. Don't worry about down the road, that will be taken care of when you get there, BE IN THE MOMENT and do your very best in the moment. Don't look at the whole picture or you'll be overwhelmed. Having a C section is a great way to avoid passing HIV on to your child. If you truly want to be around to see your grand kids, then you need to make sure you have as healthy a life style as you can RIGHT THIS MINUTE. only be concerned with RIGHT THIS MINUTE and DO YOUR VERY BEST. All these things are studied via people like you and me joining up in studies with the hope that research will make a difference. There is no reason to blame anyone. that is looking backwards. the only reason to look back is to take any lessons with you as you move forward. Take responsibility for YOUR OWN LIFE and Live your very best in the moment, with a positive eye on the future and you'll be there for your grandkids.

It doesn't at all sound like she is looking at her life totally negativly. She seems as though she is worried about her unborn baby. Every mother only wants a healthy child if nothing else. and when you here about all these side effects, and toxicities of meds, of course it is going to cause concern for the life of your child.
but you do need to ask yourself......would I rather see my child ill for a short period of time (which they don't get sick from the meds) or run the risk of my baby being born to hiv. I feel as though there really is only one choice, you love your baby, and don't want them to have an immune system that is compromised so early in life, so you know youhave to take the meds. and they are not harmful to the baby.
But spiritzone, it is great that you are such a positive person, feeding people with positivity, I love to see that in positive people, but you also have to understand.....unless you have carried a child inside of you....waiting for the day he will come into your life......you won't understand that FEAR of doing something that may hurt your baby. and thinking that you may have caused it. It is very struggling for a mother.

And for the mom.......you keep your head up....you know things will be fine. My son will be ONE YEAR OLD next month. and I am so excited, and his vl has always been undetectable. (they do not do an hiv test until after 1 yr).

love and prayers,
deb

you sort of sound like an idiot. The water in Africa is not any more contaminated than the water in the good 'ol USA. HAVE YOU BEEN READING MAIN-STREAM NEWS AGAIN, honey?? I have been in many of your so called "human guni pig" studies and i highly reccommend them for people like you who seem to be afraid of their own shadows. About the only thing positive i see in your post is your decision to have a C-section. That will save your baby. When are you going to forgive the baby's dad and especially when are you going to forgive yourself and start LOVEing yourself, eh? Why do you think your boyfriend has Cerosis of the liver?? It couldn't be because he abuses alcohol could it?? hmmm. I'm glad I'm not your baby.

You know something spiritzone, I've been polite about your forcefullness of opinion on someone else's behavior. But I'm getting hurtful and angry toward the other people that you are throwing your moral views out to. I dont think your advise is useful and in fact, I think almost all of it puts someone asking for help in a sadder circumstance.
I dont think she is an idiot, but I don't have to be as rude as you to tell you who I think IS an idiot.

and you say the only useful thing she said was having a c section, with meds during pregnancy vaginal childbirth w/ an undetecable viral load is fine. She is doing it due to a spinal injury. !! again i will say....."you dont know how it feels to be a mother". mothers are not concerned for themselves, they are concerned for their babies. and since it hasn't been known long enough......mothers are concerned if their will be LONG TERM EFFECTS from the medication. which I pray every day not, because I've had to take them as well. to save my baby.

And according to you..........EVERYBODY is "afraid of their own shadows"!! (ooohhh) because they ask for advise. I dont know why you are here, if you just come in to insult everyone!!

prayers to you....you NEED THEM!!

Deb
